This article explains how to create a new Layout under your account in the UI builder, and why this can help you test your app in a QA-like environment.
Selecting a Layout:
When you first start to work on your app in the ‘App Builder’, you should choose your working layout or create a new one, if necessary.
A layout is a sort of "Environment" where you create your Screens with their corresponding components and feeds.
When you create a new app, by default, you will get 12 layouts, A Production Layout.
Configuring the Layout on the Version Level:
You can create as many layouts as you want, and use them, for testing and more....
But, you need to make sure in "Zapp" to go to the "General’" section for your Specific Version and then to Choose the Layout you wish for the App to operate with.
To do that, follow those steps:
1.Go to Zapp, click on the drop down menu for your version (next to the build button in green).
2. Click on ‘General’.
3. Choose in ‘Active Layout’, the layout you wish to see on the app level and save.
In the ‘App UI Builder’, Click on this drop down arrow, at the Top of the Screen, and select the Relevant Layout by clicking on the Date, to the right of the Layout Name
You can also see on the right, which versions of your app are using this layout:
If you need to create a new layout, follow those steps:
1. click on 'Layouts' on the top left pane.
2. Click on add layout
3.Give the layout the name you want
4. Click on the bottom “add layout”, and it will appear in the lists of your layouts :
