What is a Link event?
A link event contains a text, an image and a link.
Clicking on the image will open the link in a web view inside the application.
How to create an Link event?
Click on the New Event icon and select Link from the list:
Enter the following:
Text - the text that will appear together with the link.
Event source - select which event source this belongs to. The event source is the "character" that will appear in each event, simulating the publisher.
Link URL - this can be an external link or an internal link leading to somewhere else in the app.
Enable zoom - check this if you want to let the user zoom the webpage when they are in the web view.
Transparent Background - If selected, the link will open on a transparent web view (meaning that the Feed will be visible in the background).
Open in full-screen - if you check this, the web view will open in full screen, if not, the user will still be able to see the banner and the top bar of the Feed.
Orientation - (only available in Fullscreen) decide if you want the link to always open in Portrait, in Landscape or in either one of them. If the page you are redirecting to is set in a specific orientation, choose it to make sure it will open in an optimal way.
Web-view controlls - (only available in Fullscreen) select this if you want the external link to open with a close button and/or navigation controls.
Take over - you can publish a Question in "take over mode" to ensure that users will react to it - it will take over the screen within the Feed feature only.
Preview Image - the image you want to display together with the link. The image should be .jpg, .jpeg or .png.
Trigger Scheduled - if you want to schedule the event instead of publishing it manually, just check the box and choose the time and date.
Once all the details were entered, click on Submit to save. Please note that this won't publish the event to the app; it will only create it:
To set the event to appear in the application, click on Publish.
**NOTE** Once the event has been published you may re-enter the event by selecting the "Edit" button at bottom right of each event cell of the timeline. You may delete a particular event by editing the event and selecting the "Delete" button at the bottom of the page. Only users who re-enter the feed will see the event erased from the timeline.
