Applicaster supports video advertisements on the Apple TV platform
We support IMA formatted VAST and VMAP video ads. Essentially, that means we support ad units that are generated out of DFP (DoubleClick For Publishers).
To learn more about creating video ad units on DFP, you can check out their documentation here: https://support.google.com/dfp_premium/answer/1047442?hl=en
Once you generate an ad unit, you can configure it in our CMS.
We can add the following fields in the “Advertising Settings” section of the CMS on Admin > Advertiser > App.
Enter the ad unit for the relevant video ad type.
Preroll - Video ad that plays before the VOD item
Midroll - Video ad that plays in the middle of the VOD item, every X seconds, as defined by the ‘Midroll interval tv’ field.
*For example, if you put 300 in the Midroll interval tv field, the Midroll ad will play every 5 minutes
Postroll - Video ad that plays after the VOD item is completed
Ad playlist - A playlist is a single ad unit that can be assigned to a VOD item and contains all the ad rules necessary to know how to handle video ads for the entirety of VOD item. They can contain prerolls, midrolls, and postrolls, each with different content and rules, all in one ad unit
To add specific ad unit URL's to specific categories go to Admin > Extensions and add the URL's in the relative fields.
* If the fields are not setup please contact your Project Manager or Applicaster Support.
* If you set up a playlist ad unit, the other ad units will be ignored as the app will look to this ad unit to handle all video ads. If this field is not populated, it will then look to the preroll, midroll, and postroll fields.
* Google only supports playlists for Google Premium customers. Playlists compile in VMAP (Video Multiple Ad Playlist) format. You can learn more about it here: https://support.google.com/dfp_premium/answer/4539582?hl=en
